I heard the seagulls scream upon the roof of the house. It was way to early for me to get up, but when I opened my eyes at five and got myself a glass of water, I somehow ended up sitting on the balcony parapet. The sky was riddled with fluffy looking clouds in pastel colors and swarms of pelicans were heading to the sea. The world before sunrise is so peaceful. No noise, no voices, no alarms and no duties. Behind the silhouettes of transmission lines and condos, sun was rising in a luscious gold. When I looked at the horizon lit up and in flames, when I felt the warm wind from the gulf on my tired skin, here on the balcony of our house by the creek, I knew: Everything is going to be fine. Life will get better.
